Women were meant to procreate and have children. This privilege was accorded only to a woman who became a mother on having a child. While it was considered normal for every woman to have children in recent years it was found that more and more women were unable to conceive. The changing the way we live and all the technological advancements, and what with most women opting to have children later after their career has stabilized and they were financially stable, all these factors have contributed to this cause. It was also found that men were unable to impregnate their wives as their sperm count was also decreasing due to their stressful life styles. For all married couples, it was thought that procreation was the only way to start a family. But what about women who do not want to be married but still want to have children. These women can either go in for sperm donors to have them impregnated artificially. These were the test tube babies who were actually conceived in test tubes using the sperms of donors and the eggs of the mother. Infertility has been the major cause which has contributed to couples adopting children. Single women who felt the need to have children to share their lives with but who did not want to get married and who also did not want to go through the pangs of pregnancy and childhood preferred to adopt children. The essence of Motherhood lies in the life - long experience of raising and training a child to be physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually strong. There are more reasons to make an adoption by a woman and when a woman adopts a child gets a family. When she adopts the woman experiences the feeling of motherhood which she would have otherwise missed if she had preferred to live a life with no one to share with. When a woman adopts she is giving a new lease of life to a child and she in turn gets to experience motherhood. The life of a woman becomes complete only when she attains the state of Motherhood. Motherhood makes a woman complete. And through adoption a woman completes this stage in her life.
