Page Title : Effective exercise with Exercise Bikes You can burn your calories without giving your body excessive impact, particularly to your knee joints. Because of this, stationary bikes are more popular than treadmills. Generally, less amount of fat is burnt off by cycling than using a treadmill and if you can?t able to use the bikes effectively, the amount reduces more. Before starting your exercise, you should adjust your exercise bike to the proper height. Though it is a small thing, the height adjustment has a substantial effect on the exercise workout. The low seat makes your kegs more tired and it becomes difficult to exercise effectively. In this case, your knees are also stressed more. On the other hand, a high seat may sway your hips and your workout becomes less comfortable and ineffective. Hence, an optimum height is very important. For the right height, you have to do this. Sit on the bike and keep one of your heels against the center of the bike pedal, where normally you press with ball of your foot. Then, change your seat height so that your leg is stretched fully. You can also change the intensity of your workout to improve the effectiveness. You can do 2 - 3 minutes high speed cycling and then 3 minutes relaxed pedaling. You can continue the same for about 15 minutes. You can have standing up while cycling. In this case, your muscles need more work to pedal and to support the body and this more work burns fat. You should do this type of workout for at least 3 days in a week and for minimum 20 minutes every time. You can start somewhat slowly and then increase the exercise up to this level. The pulse rate should increase up to 60 - 85 % of its maximum heart rate. It is suggested that before starting any such routine, you should consult to a health physician about the routine safety. You should have warm up before biking and cool down after the routine. The people with back pain should include stretching and strengthening exercises in their routine. If you take care of above things and incorporate all this things in your schedule, exercise bikes will effectively help you in achieving your goals.
