Joint pains have been a cause of huge discomfiture for man and are considered as a very serious illness. Joint pains continue over a period of time and are lesser prone to cure. Joint pains are treated in many ways like Medications, Heat, Cold, Rest and Exercise and Joint protection. Medications are given to decrease pain and inflammation. If inflammation is not decreased, then it can damage the joint. Take medications only after consulting the doctor. Heat helps relieve joint stiffness, muscle spasms and pain. It relaxes tense muscles and increases blood flow. Good sources of heat include moist heating pads Warm showers or baths, moist towels heated in a microwave but be careful of burning skin, especially if one have experienced a loss of feeling from diabetes or stroke. Cold is best for red, hot or swollen joints pain. It helps decrease swelling and pain. It relaxes tense muscles and has a numbing effect.
