Yoga is an ancient form of exercise which has originated from India. In recent times it has gained immense popularity among the western countries due to its miraculous effect on the overall health of a person. Yoga generally concentrates on the effective breathing techniques and various ways of relaxing our body and give movements to the muscles. Yoga can also be very useful in countering some of the serious health hazards like the excessive cholesterol in the body.

High triglyceride levels often translate into a higher cholesterol level, where the LDL (low density lipoprotein) or bad cholesterol is elevated, and the HDL (high density lipoprotein) or good cholesterol is at a low count. There is a strong link between coronary heart disease and high triglyceride levels. Triglyceride levels can only be accurately measured after a 12-hour fast. This is done by a blood lipid profile, which is a blood test that assesses your total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Above normal triglyceride levels that is greater than or equal to 200 mg/dL are invariably associated with coronary heart disease.

For several decades people have been harping over the fact that obesity and high cholesterol levels are harmful for the health. However, instead of declining, the number of obese and people suffering from high cholesterol has increased. Experts believe that it is lack of use of alternatives to the conventional fatty substances that is one of the main reasons for increasing risk for obesity and high cholesterol disorders. Using means like olive oil regularly can significantly reduce the risk of high cholesterol diseases and obesity problems.

In recent times obesity is being considered as a health concern all over the world. The main cause of the obesity is the cholesterol. Cholesterol is a form of lipid. The lipids are the polymers of the fatty acids. In these compounds fatty acids are held together by very strong covalent bonds, which make it difficult for this compound to get degraded. Thus with time if the fat deposited in the body increases more than their permissible limit then it become the cause of the obesity. It also causes many other health related problems like high blood pressure, which is caused due to deposition of excess cholesterol on the walls of the arteries.
