Flickering Light Therapy for Fibromyalgia

If someone has fibromyalgia, then one knows the miserable, life-wrecking symptoms of widespread body pain, muscle stiffness, insomnia, fatigue, depression, cognitive problems, irritable bowel syndrome and possibly other unpleasant things to deal with on an everyday basis. Medical researchers imagine that fibromyalgia may be caused by genetics, food additives, mercury poisoning from dental fillings, imbalances caused by diet or stress, viral infections, sleep disorders, toxicity, accidents, hormone imbalances, vaccinations, hypothalamus malfunction, surgery, severe emotional or physical trauma, yeast overgrowth or nutritional deficiencies.

Reasons for fibromyalgia:

Yeast overgrowth can root symptoms suspiciously alike to fibromyalgia. These include muscle and joint pain, difficulty concentrating, chronic fatigue, neurological disorders, insomnia, bowel dysfunction and a weakened immune system. If one crave sugar or carbohydrates or have been taking antibiotics then one may have a yeast problem. Some people find release by eliminating all excitotoxins from their diet. Symptoms may get worse initially as the body begins detoxifying but some people become pain free with this technique. Excitotoxins are used in almost all processed foods. These substances are called excitotoxins because they stimulate the neurons in the brain. It causes to fire so rapidly that they can die. Thereby restoring normal cell functioning in the brain, muscles, tendons, etc.

Other disorders:

People who volunteered for sleep deficiency experiments actually developed symptoms similar to fibromyalgia too. Researchers say that most people with FMS are lacking in magnesium, the mineral that helps muscles relax. The flickering light of the computer screen used to bring on a fast worsening of the fibromyalgia. Put bright lighting in the room to offset this effect. Perhaps certain spectrums of light are injurious to people who are more light sensitive than others. Full range lighting could be a good investment. Study is being done on the effect of light on the pineal gland. The gland that produces melatonin that is necessary for sleep. Flickering light has been confirmed to cause changes in the EEG patterns in the brain. Researchers are testing with flickering light therapy to help fibromyalgia patients by restructuring EEG patterns.  So the introduction of the flickering therapy for the patient of fibromyalgia is actually harmful. But a vast study is going on to check whether it can be used in order to make it useful to relief the patients.
